News filtering in from the UK is that Mark Harper, the country's Immigration Minister has tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister, David Cameron. The resignation was accepted. What caused his resignation was the status of a cleaner he had hired, the cleaner's did not have permission to work in the UK.
Ok! Fast forward to Nigeria, Can a minister resign over a visa infraction by a cleaner. We are here still battling Stella Odua over the N225m BMWs, Diezani Madueke over NNPC scandal without success! This guy is only 43 years old et he has been minister many times over. If na Naija, nothing for this guy, if him never reach 60 years... I mean, at 80, Bamanga Tukur is Chairman of Nigeria Railway Corporation, in Nigeria.
Mark Harper was educated in Swindon and studied PPE at Oxford. He qualified
as chartered accountant with KPMG in 1995 and later established own business. Elected
MP for Forest of Dean in 2005 and appointed shadow defence minister. Later became
shadow minister for disabled people in 2007.Appointed
minister for political and constitutional reform in coalition government in
2010
Made
immigration minister in September 2012, resigned in February 2014
