Health Benefits Of Garlic

The only natural herb known to contain enough power potent enough to fight Cancer cells in the human body is 'GARLIC'.

Recognized by its unpleasant smell, Garlic is very rich in sugars, protein , calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iodine, silicone, vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3 , sulphur compounds and oil soluble nutrients.

Fructose is also found in garlic. It helps to stimulate the immune system.

We often neglect the usefulness of garlic because of its pungent smell (caused by the presence of sulphur), however, any description of garlic is incomplete without mentioning its medicinal values.

Here are some health benefits of garlic:

Antibacterial and Antiviral

Garlic is most well known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. They help control bacterial, viral, fungal yeast and worm infections. Fresh garlic is thought to play a role in preventing food poisoning by killing bacteria like E.coli, Salmonella enteritidis etc.

Treats skin infection

The chemical ajoene' found in garlic may help treat fungal skin infection like ringworm and athlete's foot.

Blood thinning

The anti-clotting properties of ajoene found in garlic help in preventing the formation of blood clots in the body. Hence: it may also increase the risk of bleeding after surgery.

Prevents Hypertension

Garlic acts as a vasodilator which helps to widen the blood vessels, making blood flow smoother. This helps to lower blood pressure.

Protect heart

Garlic protects our heart against cardiovascular problems like heart attacks and atherosclerosis. The cardio-protective property can be attributed to various factors. With age, the arteries tend to loose their ability to stretch. Garlic may help reduce this and may also protect the heart from the damaging effects of free oxygen radicals. The sulphur-containing compound of garlic also prevent our blood vessels from becoming blocked. The anti-clotting properties of ajoene help prevent clots from forming inside the blood vessels.

Garlic has the ability to moderately lower our blood triglycerides and total cholesterol, and reduce arterial plaque formation.

Garlic is known to have anti-inflammatory property. It can help the body fight against allergies. The anti-arthritic property of garlic is due to diallyl sulphide and thiacremonone. Garlic has been shown to improve allergic airway inflammation (allergic rhinitis). Raw garlic juice may be used to immediately stop the itching due to rashes and bug bites.

Its ability to promote expectoration makes it irreplaceable in chronic bronchitis.

Anti-diabetic

Garlic is a huge help with people living with diabetes and helps to prevent it as well because it helps tyo lower the glucose in the blood. This is due to the fact that it increases the secretion of insulin. Insulin is incharge of regulating normal sugar levels in the blood.

Cancer prevention

Daily intake of garlic has been found to lower risk of most types of cancer. The anti-cancer property is due to diallyl sulphides found in garlic. PhlP, a type of heterocyclic amine(HCA), has been associated with increased incidence of breast cancer among women. According to studies, diallyl sulphide found in garlic inhibits the transformation PhlP into carcinogens.

Antirheumatic

Ground garlic mixed with hot aleo lotion calms and eases pain caused by inflamed and aching joints, a result of Rheumatism.

Digestive aid

Taking garlic prevents the blockage of gastric pancreatic and intestinal juices which are responsible for digesting the nutrients. It also helps to promote, relax and tone the digestive system.

Toothaches

By simply putting some crushed garlic clove directly on the affected tooth, can help relieve toothaches. This is due to its antibacterial and analgesic properties. But be aware that it can be irritating to the gum.

Hyperthyroidism

Garlic contains a lot of iodine which helps people who suffer from hyperthyroid, a deficiency of this mineral.

Really interesting I must say.

Go ahead, take a bold step, bite on garlic and let the smell chase diseases and sickness, this is more important than the people it will chase away.
